Dear Janie,
I hope this letter finds you happy and stable in your life. By now, you should have finished your first book series and moved on to The Singlehearted series. I bet you're an accomplished writer and helping others as they begin or continue their writing journey.
By now, you're inching your way toward 37...I hope we've found the soulmate God planned for us to have. Did you wear the wedding dress we picked out in college? Was mom crying and smiling? Knowing us, it was a small wedding. Did we get married on a cruise to Europe like we wanted? Did you get our brother on an airplane without heavily medicating him first?
I know you're older and wiser than me, but I hope we kept our promise to not make the same mistakes and wait until marriage to become intimate with our soulmate. Everywhere I turn sex before marriage is the thing to do. People ask me why I would deprive myself, but I don't see it as that. God intended for us to fall in love and help each other, not to just want to get physical (sorry for the Olivia Newton John flashback). I know that if it's hard for me right now, it must've been harder for you as we waited. I bet it was well worth it.
I know we would never settle for someone we didn't truly love, so I have all the faith in the world that you made the right decision.
Did you hear the pitter-patter of little feet coming your way? I know how much we want a child. I'm sure you're a great mom, and I know the kid's got a wonderful grandma.
In reading this letter, I want you to remember that I still believe in all of our dreams. Whether they've all come true or we're still working toward them, I believe in you. Stay faithful to God and continue living our life in His Will.
Love,
Me
