Tender Blessings Love Begins by Teresa Slack is categorized as a Contemporary Christian Romance Novel.
I say categorized because that's what its under on Amazon.com. In my opinion, it's more of Women's Fiction with hints of romance.
My other problem is it's called a novel, but there is no resolution to anything by the end of the book. I understand that it's part of a series, but nothing's settled by the last page. She hasn't made a decision about her faith, her niece and nephew, or the two guys she likes.
Not to say that this is a bad read, there were some very nice moments within the story. I just think it could be a little misleading in its categorization.
Plot: Michele Hurley is a nurse who enjoys her independence. The scars from being abandoned by her parents to live with her grandmother who made it known what a burden she and her sister, Nicole were still haunts her.
She has no desire to settle down and have a family of her own. She answers to no one and likes it that way. That is until one morning she wakes up to find her niece and nephew abandoned under her Lilac bush.
Now her world has been turned upside down. Her routine is shot, and she has two little people who need her love and attention. Will she scar these children as her grandmother scarred her, or will she learn to open her heart up to love?
If you're looking for a light read, this is the book for you!
