Title: Crossing Oceans
Genre: Contemporary Women’s Fiction
Author: Gina Holmes
I was researching Tyndale and bought a book they published entitled: Crossing Oceans. It was in the same genre I write and thought it would be good research for my own manuscript.
WARNING: Have a box of tissues handy while reading this book.
Jenny Lucas has returned to her childhood home with her daughter, Bella in tow. But this is not the coming home celebration of a long lost daughter, Jenny’s on a time-sensitive mission to find someone to take care of Bella after she dies. She struggles to make amends with her own father, but her true battle arises when Bella’s father discovers her existence.
This story is not only about death but also about healing the hurts from the past. Jenny’s character is strong and yet weak at times. Ms. Holmes truly describes all the pain and joy that accompanies death.
I fell in love with this book from the first sentence. It’s beautifully written and touches your soul. I recommend Crossing Oceans to anyone.
